Most users do not know that styling waxes, in all their variants—pomades, clay, matte waxes, shiny waxes, or pastes—are melted at high temperatures, in some cases at boiling temperatures, in order to pour them into their containers. This practice poses a high risk to user health due to molecules found in plastic containers and the coating of many brass containers. We are talking about bisphenols.

Bisphenols are molecules that penetrate our skin, enter the bloodstream, and deteriorate our hormonal system. They harm the thyroid and the secretory glands of our reproductive system. They are called endocrine disruptors.

These endocrine disruptors easily migrate from the plastic packaging to the packaged product in the presence of heat.

Pouring waxes at high temperatures or boiling temperatures into plastic containers makes the migration of bisphenols from the packaging to the product highly probable.

Plastic and heat form a disastrous duo for human health.

This is why we are advised not to reuse PET plastic water bottles, not to expose these water bottles to sunlight or any other source of heat, and not to heat food in plastic containers.

There is no doubt that the issue is serious and controversial, especially considering that there is scientific evidence that the effects of these endocrine disruptors can even be transgenerational. That is, these substances can have harmful effects on future generations that have not even had direct contact with them.
